I love the momo missionaries too.I always feed and water them with cordial when they visit.Theyre mainly just tired kids with worn out, dusty shoes. It must be a hard life having to be in bed by 9.30 and miss "The Shield".

Affleck and Lopez are so ordinary and unstriking as people and in appearance that I wonder anyone would care about their careers. You would walk past them in the street without noticing them. Affleck is a "no talent". Actually a lot of the younger movie breed have no charisma. I would say Ethan Hawke is a talent, and Edward Norton is certainly the next "actors actor", the next Hackman or DeNiro.

Change of "look" after leaving the organization
by JH ini was wondering how many men here let their beard grow, when they decided to quit the organization.
since having a beard in the jw's is not permitted, it would seem appropriate to let one's beard grow just to show that we don't go by their rules anymore.
maybe for others it was growing a mustache or maybe shaving their head.. did you change your "look" right after leaving the organization?.

Ive always been very conservative of appearance and never been subject to fashion change. Back in the 70s everyone wore flared pants, platform shoes and had shoulder length hair and / or Mutton chop sideburns. I thought they all looked like a bunch of faggots at the time and my major problem was that you couldnt BUY a pair of pants that were not "flared", Everyone looked like a refuge from the partidge family. I used to wear conservative suits and short back and sides hair. I grew a beard once, but it was too itchy so got shaved off.
Ive never worn accessories such as rings, or chains and never owned a watch, let alone pierced my flesh. No tattoos. I might wear a tattoo if I ever saw an original design that was worthy and unique enough of appearance to mark my skiun with it, but I never have seen one worth the effort. Styandard symbols such as eagles, hearts, and snakes etc dont seem worth wearing, to me, because they are...well... standard symbols.

I dont see much point to eating something that burns your gums out, though I am partial to mexican food occassionally. As for American beer,Im not fond of the ones I tried, too weak tasting,it tastes like its watered down.

Unseen Unheard Unknown
by refiners fire ini see that extensive excerpts from sarah hamilton byrnes book unseen, unheard, unknown are online.
this is a most excellent book detailing sarahs life within the great white brotherhood cult run by her mother.
this cult is a most notorious australian group that hit the headlines in the 80s when it was discovered that medical practitioners were involved in a church that, basically, illegally fostered children out to the cult.

SS. Of course, its not the complete book, merely selected passages. As for shrinks, I thoroughly recommend them. A few chats with a shrink can do wonders for working out issues that are stuck in your head. Ive always seen psychiatrists whenever Ive felt the need, not Psychologists. If you see a psychiatrist on a doctors recommendation here in Oz it is virtually free of charge..... I dont know about Canada.

Mike Tyson, misunderstood or misanthropic ass#@!&
by Thunder Rider ini was watching one of the sports chanels the other day and saw an hour long story on mr. tyson.
there were several segments showing different prefight interviews.
his behavior at these gatherings was incorrigable.

A few years ago some of my fellow fight fan\ Pay TV fight watchers over here in oz felt that Iron Mike could have taken Ali out. That was never a possibility. Ali the master would have manipulated Mikes pea brain into doing a stupid thing resulting in ignominious defeat for Mike. No doubt about that either.

It was quite clear to me that Tyson was finished when he bit the guys ear in the ring. Not happy, I paid good money to watch a fight that barely happened. But if he had believed he could win he wouldnt have done the chomp on the guys lug hole. It was just a demonstration of his self loathing, rage and frustration.
Hes headed back to jail in the future, dont worry about that, but for what? Murder? more rape? He is capable of anything in terms of violence.

There was a "meetup" here a week last Saturday. there were 12 people there, 10 of whom dont post here.Anyway, Sister Prisca is organizing a BBQ at her place and blending the JW com "apostofest" types up with the 'meetup" people. Of course, us staunch JW com posters will be advertising the merits of the forum and trying to recruit more numbers to the JW com cult. lol

Have You Changed Since You First Started Posting Here?
by minimus inon a different thread, berylblue mentioned how, when comparing my 1st post to the present ones, there is an obvious change.
i do agree that we all can grow and learn as time goes on in our lives.
my question for today is,"have you changed in how you think or in your growth from a spiritual and /or emotional standpoint"?

I wouldnt say that Ive learnt anything about the dubs here, cause i already knew most of it. However this site was my first foray onto the internet and chat. Everything Ive learnt about dealing with people on the net I learnt here. There have been some interesting psychological lessons learnt, when I first came here I felt a desperate need to be accepted by the "in" crowd, approved of, applauded for my moral superiority. But I learnt that the posting 'gods' are mere mortals, and that my own my own morals are questionable at best.

Yeah SS. My own son is on Ritalin for ADD or somesuch, and also goes to a shrink once a fortnight. Personally Im concerned about his being on mind altering substances and arent sure i agree with it, but his mother deems it appropriate, so I bow to her judgement. As for the shrink, he likes going there so thats cool with me. He was talking about suicide, so the school arranged for him to see a psychologist.
